What is Crime Stoppers?
Crime Stoppers is a proven program that offers you the opportunity to tell what you know about a crime and yet remain totally anonymous.

Who Benefits?
Everyone! Your neighborhood becomes a safer place to live. The relationships between law enforcement agencies and your community are strengthened. Young people can show responsibility without the fear of retaliation. And crimes that frustrate victims and officers will be solved when we all work together.

How Effective is Crime Stoppers?
In our short nine year history, 344 cases have been solved with $222,536 in recovered property; $662,972 of property damage cleared; and $1,143,960 of narcotics taken off our streets.

How Do I Remain Anonymous?
When calling Crime Stoppers, do not give your name. You will be given a code number to insure your anonymity. The Crime Stoppers is manned by a trained representative who will take the information and ask for specific details that will help distribute your information to the proper law enforcement agency. The Crime Stoppers phone is manned between 8a.m. to 5p.m., Monday through Friday. Otherwise, you will hear a recording with a brief message.

Is There a Reward for Calling? Cash rewards are paid on calls that help solve a crime. Rewards are determined by the Crime Stoppers Board of Directors and vary based on the crime. Cash rewards of up to $1,000 are paid by non-law enforcement personnel through a "coded" exchange to protect your identity.

Can a Minor Call? Of course! There is no age restriction on anyone calling. There is also Crime Stopper Program at the Emporia High School which may be more comfortable for students to call. Their phone number is: 341-CEHS
