May be viewed and bid through July 25th. Bids will be opened June 28, 2008, at 5pm at Payless Auto Sales, Inc. 2116 W. Hwy. 50, Emporia, KS 66801. Vehicles must be removed from premises within 30 days.
PROPOSED DEMOLITION GRANT
Due to a possible grant opportunity, the City of Emporia is in the process of gathering input from owners of property within the city limits who are interested in receiving grant assistance to help pay for the costs of demolishing dilapidated structures. Grants would be available regardless of income, and would require owners to contribute a share of the costs. Interested persons should contact Jeff Lynch, at 620-343-4285.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of K.S.A. 25-2022, of a vacancy in the membership of the Board of Education of Unified School District #252, Lyon County, Kansas, and that such vacancy shall be filled by appointment of the Board of Education until the next general election (through June 30, 2009), not sooner than 15 days following publication of this notice. Such vacancy exists by reason of the resignation of Donald Roberts, who represented board member district position #2 (Elmendaro Township area). Any interested person who is an elector of said Southern Lyon County Unified School District #252 may apply for said position in writing directed to Brenda J. Redeker, Clerk of the Southern Lyon County USD #252 Board of Education, P.O. Box 278, 100 Commercial St., Suite A, Hartford, KS 66854. Said letter shall state the applicant’s qualifications to serve upon the Southern Lyon County USD #252 Board of Education, the reasons said applicant wishes to serve upon the Board of Education, and a brief summary of their background. Letters of application must be received on or before the 22nd day of August 2008.
